I want to know if the people in your immediate society were happy. If they were, what made them happy. If they were not, why not. As an example, I cannot imagine the people of Leningrad being that happy when they walked the streets during the siege that lasted almost 900 days during WWII and found the dead everywhere.
On the other hand a bride who is madly in love would have a far different thing to write about than those in Leningrad.
