When solving the equation such as 3/5x = 1/9 , why would you multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of 3/5 ?

You would multiply each side of the equation by the reciprocal of 3/5 (5/3) because would cancel out 3/5 which would leave you with x and the answer.
