Describe how you can use a compass and straightedge to bisect a line segment

Set the compass to a random length( ideally longer than half of the segment), and draw a circle with the center being one end of the segment. Then draw the same circle with the other end point as it’s center. The two circles will intersect at two points, connect those two points with a straight edge to find it’s perpendicular bisector.
