3 (2x + 5) - x + 6 = 2 (4x + 7) - 5

On the left side of the equal sign, multiply everything in the parenthesis by 3.
On the right side of the equal sign, multiply everything in the parenthesis by 2.

6x + 15 - x + 6 = 8x + 14 - 5

Combine like terms.

5x + 21 = 8x + 9

Subtract 5x from both sides.

21 = 3x + 9

Subtract 9 from both sides.

12 = 3x

Divide 3 on both sides.

x = 4

Hope this helps!
