Both are types of mutation yet in a point change, one base combine is changed, and in a chromosomal deviation, a whole area of the chromosome is modified. 
A chromosome variation from the norm, issue, inconsistency, distortion, or change is a missing, additional, or unpredictable bit of chromosomal DNA. It can be from an atypical number of chromosomes or a basic anomaly in at least one chromosomes.
