To boycott is to deny buying, sell, or participate in any kind of business desitions.

This could mean a sacrifice because going against some companies or even politic statements leads to people to get involved in a revolutionary environment and this could lead to violence.

Another kind of sacrifice could be losing some advantage given by the company the boycott is meant to.

A good example of a boycott is the Apartheid in SouthAfrica.
