To decrease an amount by 3% what single multiplayer would you use?

To decrease the number by 3% you subtract 3% of the number from the number.
[tex]x-3\%x = 100\%x-3\%x=97\% x=0.97x[/tex]

The multiplier you would use is 0.97.
