The British used their colonies in New Zealand and Australia for several purposes.  New Zealand and Australia were already and outposts of Britain in South Pacific which provides the indication of power of the British Empire.  Both of these lands destined to be used for their resources with an intention of self-sufficient colonies development which can be give sufficient products to Great Britain
