what value is added to both sides of the equation.

x^2 + 16x + 2 = 0
x^2 + 16x = -2
x^2 + 16x + 64 = -2 + 64 <===added 64 to both sides
(x + 8)^2 = 62
x + 8 = sqrt 62
x = -8 (+-) sqrt 62

x = -8 + sqrt 62
x = -8 - sqrt 62
