The layers inside the egg around the embryo are called extraembryonic membranes.There are four extraembryonic membranes: Amnion, Yolk Sac, Allantois and chorion. The chorion allows the transfer of nutrients from maternal blood to fetal blood. It provides the embiron with the nutrients and protection needed for the embryo's survival.
