[tex]f(x) = 2x^2+3x [/tex]
[tex]g(x) = x-2[/tex]
First find (f + g)
[tex](f+g) = 2x^2+3x+x-2[/tex]
[tex](f+g)=2x^2+4x-2[/tex]
Now multiply by 2.
[tex](f+g)(2)=2(2x^2)+2(4x)+2(-2)[/tex]
[tex](f+g)(2) = 4x^2+8x-4[/tex]
