It is unacceptable for the therapist to write the client’s objectives as the therapist thinks they should be.

To come up with objectives or goals for the client, the therapist must cooperate with the client to construct goals that align with both perspectives. Because the client’s involvement with making these goals makes the process more effective and empowering, it typically is unacceptable for the therapist to write goals in their own perspectives.
