U.S. forces and their Filipino allies surrendered in the early spring of 1942. The Bataan peninsula in the Philippines was the stage for a 65 miles march marked by the violence of the Japanese troops and tropical diseases what created the name Bataan Death March. The outcome of this event was the death of more than 10 thousand prisoners.
