y= 7 (a)

y= 2x-5 (b)

Replace (a) on (b) ans solve for x:

7 = 2x-5

Add 5 to both sides of the equation:

7+5 = 2x -5 +5

12 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2

12/2 = 2x/2

6 = x

Solution:

x=6, y=7
