Given,

The initial velocity of the car, u=10 m/s

The final velocity of the car, v=30 m/s

The acceleration of the car, a= 4.0 m/s²

From one of the equations of the motion, we have

[tex]v=u+at[/tex]

Where t is the time duration.

On rearranging the above equation,

[tex]t=\frac{v-u}{a}[/tex]

On substituting the known values,

[tex]t=\frac{30-10}{4.0}=5\text{ s}[/tex]

Therefore the time that the car takes to accelerate is 5 s
