With 1 byte equaling to 8 bits and Gigabyte equaling to 1,000,000,000 bytes
Multiply 1,000,000,000 bytes by 8 bits to arrive to the answer of Gigabit ( 8,000,000,000. Then move the decimal point, which is found at the right side of the last 0 to the number which is inside the range of 0.01 ~ 9.99. Moving the decimal point to the left will give you a positive exponent. Thus arriving at 8.0 X 10^9.
