There is much evidence supporting the evolution of various species, but the reason its so controversial is because of us. Lots of scientists refuse to believe any higher power is involved in the making of humans, and therefore we evolved from a common ancestor as other mammals did. But others argue that humans are completely different, simply because the higher power in question made us in their image.
