How is the hypothalamus important for thermoregulation?

Hypothalamus is a part of brain which controls thermal regulation of the body.

Explanation: Hypothalamus regulates the temperature of the body through a number of actions. Human body requires optimum temperature for better functioning. When the temperature goes too high, hypothalamus sends messages to the skin organ to open the pores in order to remove the heat from the body in the form of sweat and when the temperature is too low then the hypothalamus order the skin to close the pores and prevent heat loss.
