if the perimeter is 26 and the length of one side of the rectangle is 5cm longer than its breadth,

26 - 5 - 5 = 16
16 / 4 = 4 ( rectangle has 4 sides. )

the breadth is 4cm.
so the length must be 4+5=9cm.
