Answer:

Fungi are not classified as plants because of the absence of photosynthetic pigment i.e. chlorophyll , with the help of chlorophyll plants can synthesize their own food in the presence of sunlight so we called them Autotrophs . Fungi can't synthesize their own food they are either parasitic or saprophytic.
