Reducing the fraction 9/12 would equal = 3/4

Because to reduce 9/12 we would need to know the least common denominator of both numbers.

In this case it's 3.

3 goes into 9, 3 times.

3 goes into 12, 4 times.

Which would then be 3/4.

We cannot reduce it any further because 3 is a prime number and doesn't go into 4.

Hope this helps,

Davinia.
