x-1/3(3x) = 0 because if you multiply -1/3 and 3x you get “-x”, and x-x=0 is true for all solutions; the other answer is 3x+2-1/3(3x)=2+2x because if you multiply -1/3 and 3x you get “-x” again; and if we add like terms we get 2x+2=2+2x and if we subtract 2 from both sides we get 2x=2x, and if we divide the whole eqtn by 2 we get x=x which is true for any solution.
