To find equation of line , we need to find slope and y intercept

Slope intercept form of the line is y=mx+b

To find slope we use slope formula

[tex]m= \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}[/tex]

(1,-3) is (x1,y1) and (3,1) is (x2,y2)

[tex]m= \frac{1-(-3)}{3 - 1}[/tex]

[tex]m= \frac{4)}{2}[/tex]

slope m = 2

y = mx + b

use slope m =2  and (3,1)

1 = 2(3) + b

1 = 6 + b

b = -5

Equation of the line is y = 2x - 5
